Podcast listening continues to slowly and steadily rise this year, with more than 7 million Canadians now listening on a monthly basis. But the biggest growth is coming from long-time listeners who are listening more, while new listeners are just dipping their feet in.
Crunching the data from the second year of The Canadian Podcast Listener study, we see signs of how some rules and misperceptions may be limiting the growth of podcasting, as well as opportunities to open the doors wider to fuel greater growth in the industry.
Hot off the presses, the Canadian Podcast Listener 2018 report reveals new insights about attitudes to podcast advertising, listening trends and growth, new podcast listeners, smart speakers, favourite podcasts and much more.
More than 1,500 monthly podcast listeners were surveyed for this deep dive into monthly podcast listening, co-published by Audience Insights Inc and Ulster Media, and sponsored by The Podcast Exchange (TPX).
A summary report will be released in mid-October. The full, in-depth report is available by paid subscription now.
